CPR C
2 PERSON, ADULT, CHILD, INFANT
This is the most commonly required certification level. It’s a lower standard than BLS, but a higher standard than A. It adds child, infant, & 2 person CPR.
For the average person, this certification will cover most bases. -
CPR BLS (formerly HCP)
ADVANCED LIFE SAVING, plus everything in CPR C
For professional emergency responders and persons in healthcare professions, CPR BLS (CPR Basic Life Support) is required.
This certification is also known as HCP, or Health Care Provider level CPR.
-
CPR A
ADULTS ONLY
This is the lowest standard of CPR certification you can get. We generally don’t recommend that you get only CPR A certified unless your employer is very… “strict” … to put it kindly!

What CPR Level is right for you?
One of the most common questions we get asked is, “what level of CPR do I need?”
First of all, at Oakville CPR & First Aid, there is NO COST DIFFERENCE between our CPR Certifications.
Secondly, you can ALWAYS change your mind during the entire process. You can even ask your Instructor during the course to change your certification. So don’t worry about getting it right during checkout.
In short: we recommend CPR C unless you’re in healthcare or are a professional emergency responder, in which case we recommend CPR BLS (formerly known as CPR HCP).
That being said, here’s the difference between CPR Levels:
CPR Course Agenda
